Responsible for 0.0002948568% of the world wide internet*

Ok, so we recently placed ads in the industry press (NMA etc.) claiming that (untitled) are responsible for 0.0002948568% of the internet.

These seem to have created a bit of a stir and the debate has ensued on how we came about our claim.

So, first off we tallyed up the amount of work we have live at the mo. That's web pages, microsite pages, mobile pages, online display campaigns, facebook apps, viral games etc. This came in at just under 150,000.

Next, we worked out just how many of these pages, stuff and bits and bobs exist online. Our calculation is 50 billionish (will expand on this a touch in my next post). Out came the faithful Casio for the sums..... 0.0002948568%.

Is your keyboard slowing you down?

by Rob 22/12/2007 03:10

A little story about how the QWERTY keyboard came about.

The first keyboard was created by Christoper Scholes in 1873 to improve caligraphy. However, if a person typed too quickly the keys got stuck and the machine stopped working.  The answer... QWERTY, developed by Scholes to slow you down when you type!

So why do we all use it? Well, some years later Remington - who were sewing machine manufactures at the time - used the QWERTY keyboard for the first typewriters, so as to appeal to existing users of Scholes machine. More people were forced to learn that particular system, and more companies began manufacturing those keyboards until it became the only availabe model.
